Robert John Foster OBE Hi Nicky, I have some info on the Foster family because Ken Foster, Robert's son was my old headmaster and we have been researching the family since 2006. Robert's great great grandson is in contact with me so maybe he'll be able to assist aswell. |

Selmes Family History I am researching SELMES families in East Sussex, particularly from the Mountfield, Netherfield, Battle, Sedlescombe, and Hastings areas. If you have Selmes ancestors I may be able to help you, so leave a message. |

Robert John Foster OBE I'm researching RJ Foster's sons KIA WWI. I have a London gazette entry for Robert John Foster as follows: St. James's Palace, S.W. 1, 8th January, 1919. The KING has been graciously pleased to give orders for the following promotions in, and appointments to, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services in connection with the war: —..... Robert John Foster, Esq. Local Director, Peterborough Flax Centre, Board of Agriculture and Fisheries. I can only presume that he got the OBE for what he did with agriculture and fisheries during the war! Hope this helps. Does anyone have anything on his sons ... Robert Douglas and John Cecil? |
